Having a powerhead that can be pointed in all directions is nothing new, but the hardware to make that happen usually takes up too much space and is unsightly. The WAV answers both of these problems with a new take on an articulating mount. Apex Fusion controls the WAV with a multitude of patterned flow and random settings. You can even set one or more pumps to mirror or be the inverse of another. The WAV pumps can be set up to create a nearly infinite combination of flow types, intensity, and interaction between pumps. And the best part – no programming is necessary! It is as easy as moving dots on a graph and selecting from a menu of flow options”.

Don't have an Apex? No Problem!

The COR-20 can be connected to an Apex, but it can also be used in a standalone method, where the controller lets you have simple control over the pump like, increasing and decreasing the speed as desired. Connecting the COR-20 to an Apex Controller can unlock much more potential!

Advanced Control

The COR pumps were built from the ground up with control in mind. Have power over everything including the CORs output percentage, real-time operational feedback, compared feed routines, pump status can all be monitored and controlled with Apex Fusion. Once the COR pump is plugged into a 1Link port, and after a couple button presses you can set the pumps flow rate and feed mode settings. By enabling IQ-Level, you can set the min and max flow rates for your aquarium.

Up to 2000GPH

The powerful COR-20 can push up to 2000 gallons per hour with an incredibly efficient head-loss curve. Each pump comes with multiple different output fittings that let you adapt the COR pumps output to match your reef tanks current plumbing size. It is suggested to use the largest 1.25" Union that is included, but it is totally fine to use the other 0.75" or 1.0" adapters if needed.

IQ-Level Technology

Because not all aquariums are alike, Neptune Systems included IQ-Level technology with every COR pump. Customize the minimum and maximum speed settings for your tanks plumbing to the ideal flow rate, but also the minimum flow rate for in tank flow and feed modes as well.

Whisper Quiet

Neptune's COR uses the latest in Vector Control, BLDC motor technology. Driving the COR pump in a way that is super energy efficient using less than 50W at full power, and staying vibration and noise free.

Operational Feedback

Know what is going on with your pump at all times. COR pumps come loaded with features that let you monitor your aquariums "heart" giving you the chance to fix something before it fails. Saltwater aquariums are notorious for creating calcium and other mineral build up on pumps and there internal parts that can inhibit the flow but more importantly could cause damage to the pump. Neptune Fusion lets you monitor the pumps internal temperature along with its wattage draw and flow rate allowing you to set alarms and alerts if something goes out of their normal thresholds. If the temperature of the pump increases to unsafe levels, the COR will actually slow itself down until temperatures reach a safe level again, giving you time to react and maintain the pump.

The ATK (Automatic Top-off Kit) is a simple, standalone, and complete solution for replacing water lost to evaporation.

The new aquarium hobbyist has many challenges, but none is more annoying than the chore of adding water, every day, to make up for that lost to evaporation (a.k.a. topping off/up). This alone usually makes the automatic top-off (ATO) device the first piece of automation equipment purchased.

The ironic flip side of this decision is that a faulty ATO device is one of the leading reasons for catastrophic aquarium failure, or even worse, flooding of the house or business.

Not all ATO devices are created equal. Sadly, many ATO on the market are made with cheap components, have very little protection against these catastrophes, and are just a nightmare to assemble and install correctly.

An ATO does not have to be both a blessing and a curse!

THREE LEVELS OF SAFETY PREVENT OVER-RUNS

Backup
Optical Sensor: Should the main water level sensor fail, this second optical sensor is the backup. If water continues past the primary sensor, and then covers this one, the pump will be shut off and an alarm will sound.

IQ-Fill – Water run-time intelligence
If both the primary water sensor AND the backup optical sensor fail, the algorithm used in the ATK will not add more than double the learned water amount. It will shut itself off and sound an alarm.

Physical float valve – the final backstop
If for some reason all the electronic failsafes do not work, and water is continuing to be sent to the aquarium, the mechanical float valve is the safety device that will stop the water and prevent death to your aquarium and water on your floor.

Return pump
Measuring the flow of your aquarium’s main return pump is an incredibly useful piece of information. The key benefit would be to have the Apex notify you the instant the flow stops for any reason — usually the result of a failed or faulty pump. Furthermore, an indication of a reduced flow rate could be used to determine that the pump or the lines are dirty or are becoming clogged with algae, debris, animals, or the growth of organisms inside your plumbing.

Auxiliary pumps on reactors and the like
This is a very handy application for the FMM. Place a flow sensor on a device like a carbon/gfo/biopellet reactor and it serves many purposes. First off, you will know if your pump is not not flowing correctly or failed altogether. Next, you can easily fine-tune the flow into the reactor by watching the dashboard tile on your Apex. Finally, you can know when the reactor is becoming clogged with detritus or possibly channeling has occurred by an alert on your Apex or by monitoring your dashboard.

Put a flow sensor inline to your device, plug it in to the FMM, and see exactly the flow rate of the water (any aquarium fluid really) going through that sensor. The industrial-grade flow sensors use either a turbine or paddle-wheel mechanism (depending on the model) to measure the flow.

It is important to note that the flow rate that will be reported back to you from the flow sensors will likely be far lower than you expect or what is printed on the pump label or documentation. This is due to head pressure loss from physical height differences, long runs, restrictions such as ball valves, fittings like elbows, tees, and reducers, and then finally the loc-line many use as the entry point into their tanks. As an example, a pump rated at 3200gph will likely be showing less than half that amount in nearly all applications.

With the FMK – Fluid Monitoring Kit you get one 1″ Flow Sensor as well as two 1/2″ Flow Sensors. For North American customers, adapter fittings are also provided.

Aquarium leaks are one of the most feared events for even the most seasoned aquarist – and for good reason. When it comes to leaks, it’s not just about whether you’ll have one, but when it happens, will you catch it in time? Most often if you catch a leak in the early stages, when it is a simple drip, you prevent hundreds, if not thousands of dollars in damage.

The LDK includes everything you need to enable your Apex to detect leaks in two locations. Two additional leak detection probes can be purchased separately (4 total).

When the LDK detects a leak, your Apex can sound an alarm, send an alert to your mobile device, or take other actions on your aquarium. The LDK provides the ultimate in disaster prevention for this all too common aquarium issue.

The LDK includes the FMM – Fluid Monitoring Module that is plug-and-play and will work with any Apex. The FMM has four ports for use with the two included leak detection probes. The other two ports are then available to be used for more leak detection probes, flow sensors, or optical water level sensors.

The 1Link Module from Neptune Systems will hook up to any current Apex controller and allow control of the WAV pumps. A single 1Link module can control up to 3 separate WAV pumps off a single outlet or two WAV pumps and 1 DOS pump, saving outlets for other pieces of equipment. If you use the 1Link and WAV pumps with Apex Fusion you can get access to many different flow modes to control one of the smartest pumps on the market today.

The WAV is the first of a line of aquarium products from Neptune Systems that will use a completely new interface. While many in the aquarium world continue to embrace wireless technologies for interconnectivity, Neptune has decided to use a wire.

Wireless connectivity from your smartphone or tablet to your Apex (or other controllers) is completely logical – and we embrace that. However, wireless used for the interconnecting of devices within the confines of common aquariums (that are mostly less than 6′ long) is not only unnecessary, but it reduces reliability. Neptune's philosophy is that when distances are measured in a few feet, wireless is a solution looking for a problem. And ironically, wireless really does not save wires. You still need to use a wire to get power to the devices anyway. Also let’s not forget configuration – wireless devices require syncing, endless button presses and arcane steps to get them to connect up – hopefully with you and not your neighbor. Finally, for all this “benefit”, you as the consumer get the added cost of this wireless technology that must be baked into the price of every device you buy.

So after much study of the problem, Neptune's answer is the 1LINK. It is called 1LINK because there is one power supply, one module (for up to three 1LINK devices), and a one-click-connection of a wire that carries not only the power for the device but two-way communication from it to your Apex.

OPTICAL WATER-LEVEL SENSOR (OPTIONAL)

There are many useful purposes for water-level sensors on an aquarium. They can help you build an auto-top-off, monitor the levels in your supplement containers, even help automate saltwater mixing containers. Traditionally float switches have been the most commonly used types of these devices, however they are prone to all kinds of failure. On the other hand, the solid-state, optically-controlled sensors used with the FMM are much more reliable and dependable.

These optical sensors work by using an LED emitter and receptor in a clear enclosure such that when it becomes wet, the light bends and no longer completes the circuit.

Easy to use
Of course you could always add water-level sensors to your Apex – but it was more complicated than most users could handle. Now, with the FMM and these optical water-level sensors, you just plug them in! No wire-stripping, no breakout box necessary!

LEAK DETECTION (OPTIONAL)

In addition to flow monitoring and level-detection, the FMM can be used for leak detection. Simply plug in up to four of our new, super-sensitive leak detection probes and place them where you want that oh-so-important protection for your floors, and your marriage! There is one sensor for solid surfaces and another slimline version for use under carpets.

DC24 ACCESSORY PORT BUILT-IN!

The FMM has another trick up it’s sleeve. In addition to the four sensor ports, the FMM also has a DC24 accessory port and a power supply input. This adds another controllable outlet to your Apex set up. So, for instance, if you do want to make your own ATO and attach our available PMUP or Solenoid Valve, you can do so. Simply add our 36W 24V DC power supply (available separately).

REAL-TIME MONITORING OF DISSOLVED OXYGEN IS A GREAT SAFETY NET

Many marine aquarists only give the oxygen content in their aquarium water a passing thought, not fully understanding how the level of the Dissolved Oxygen (DO) in their tanks can affect their entire tank population. In one way or another, everything (fish, invertebrates, corals, algaes, bacteria) in the oceans and in marine aquariums react with oxygen. Most of the living beings of this planet require oxygen in order to metabolize nutrients. Fish, invertebrates, corals, and bacteria ingest O2 and expel CO2 day and night.

Your critters are not the only things that use oxygen in your tank. Organic materials (i.e. Dissolved Organic Compounds, uneaten food and fish detritus on the bottom of the tank) consume a lot of oxygen as they break down. And now it’s even popular to add nitrifying bacteria additives which multiply very rapidly, consuming a large portion of the available oxygen in the tank water.

Of all the organisms in your aquarium, large fish are the most acutely at risk to low O2 levels. In some situations with heavily loaded systems, simply the failing of a skimmer can bring the O2 levels down to dangerous levels and cause a chain-reaction fish die-off . This is where the PM3 Dissolved Oxygen module comes to the rescue.

GET AN ALARM, APEX TAKES ACTION

Should your aquarium O2 start to approach the danger zone, the Apex can alert you immediately by audible alarm as well as send you an email. But, that’s not all. You can have a couple of air pumps with air-stones on the ready in your sump and the Apex will turn them on if the O2 starts dropping too low.

While the cost of the Dissolved Oxygen Module – PM3 is very reasonable, the down side is that the DO probe itself is relatively expensive. The DO Probe certified and sold by Neptune Systems is a lab grade device and costs about 5x the cost of the PM3 module itself. That’s the bad news. The good news is that the probe has replaceable membranes so you don’t have to throw it away when it wears out like other probes. Instead, every three months you simply put a new membrane in the probe – at a cost of only $8.
